Walter Koenig, who played Chekov in "Star Trek," has written and is producing "InAlienable," a science-fiction thriller dealing with alien parasites apparently intent on taking over the Earth.

Koenig, who also appears in the film, has several Trek veterans joining him onscreen, including Marina Sirits, who played Counselor Deanna Troi in "The Next Generation," and Trek guest stars Gary Graham and Alan Ruck.

Fans will also recognize Richard Hatch, who played Apollo in the original "Battlestar Galactica" and Tom Zarek in the new version on the SciFi Channel.

Andrew Koenig, Walter's son, stars in the movie as well. Other actors in "InAlienable" include Bonnie Aarons, Judy Levitt and James Runcom. Robert Dyke is directing.

The film is being produced by Sky Conway, who is also working on the "Of Gods and Men" movie.

What's it all about? Here's the official synopsis: "Still guilt-ridden over the accident that took his family's lives, Eric Norris discovers that his body is host to a parasite from another world. Except, it is more than a parasite: it carries his DNA. Is this his new son or -- as the government believes -- a threat to mankind?"

"InAlienable" is expected to be released sometime in 2008.
