One of Japan's most controversial filmmakers, Takashi Miike, known for the absurde yet unique films like Ôdishon (Audition) and Koroshiya 1Ichi the Killer), is now preparing to finish a western called Sukiyaki Western Django. Apparently, the film is more or less based on Kurosawa's classic Yojimbo (later A Fistful of Dollars), and on the 1966 spaghetti-western Django, starring Franco Nero.

Surprisingly, amidst the Japanese cast we find Quentin Tarantino, who will play a supporting role, thanks to a special demand from the director himself.

The trailer shows us that the film is spoken in English, but given the dodgy accents it doesn't seem to be dubbed. It also includes a cheesy Luis Enríquez Bacalov-ish western soundtrack.
